Ballet
Ballet class introduces dancers of any age to the fundamentals of classical ballet in a supportive and encouraging environment. Students will develop posture, alignment, coordination, balance, flexibility, strength, and musicality through barre work, center exercises, traveling steps, and simple combinations. This class helps build confidence, discipline, body awareness, and graceful movement while encouraging a love and appreciation for dance.TPDS follows the Royal Academy of Dance Syllabus, teachings, and philosophy.
Jazz
Jazz dance class introduces students to an energetic and expressive dance style that combines technique, rhythm, coordination, and performance quality. Dancers will work on body alignment, flexibility, strength, turns, jumps, kicks, and stylized movement combinations. Classes often include a warm-up, across-the-floor exercises, and choreography set to upbeat music. Jazz encourages confidence, musicality, creativity, and strong stage presence while helping dancers develop coordination and control.
Tap
Tap class introduces students to the fundamentals of tap dance, focusing on rhythm, timing, coordination, and musicality. Dancers will learn basic tap steps, sounds, combinations, and traveling movements while developing control, balance, and confidence. Hip Hop Groovin
A Hip Hop Groovin class is a fun, high-energy dance class that focuses on rhythm, musicality, and street-style movement. Students learn basic hip hop steps, grooves, isolations, footwork, and combinations while building confidence and coordination.
Class usually begins with a warm-up to get the body moving, followed by exercises that develop body control, timing, and style. Dancers then learn upbeat choreography to popular music, focusing on performance, attitude, and expression.
Hip Hop Groovin helps students improve fitness, rhythm, creativity, and stage presence in a positive and energetic environment.
Lyrical Jazz
A lyrical jazz class combines the expressive movement of lyrical dance with the energy and technique of jazz. Students focus on fluid movement, musicality, emotion, and storytelling while also developing strength, flexibility, balance, turns, leaps, and jazz-based technique.
Class typically begins with a warm-up to improve alignment, control, and flexibility, followed by across-the-floor exercises such as kicks, turns, and leaps. Dancers then learn choreography that emphasizes expression, smooth transitions, and connection to the music.
Lyrical jazz helps students build confidence, grace, coordination, and performance quality while encouraging them to express emotion through movement.
Pointe
A Pointe class is a ballet-based class designed for dancers who have developed the necessary strength, technique, and alignment to dance safely in pointe shoes. This class focuses on building foot and ankle strength, balance, control, and proper placement while working en pointe.
Class typically begins at the barre with exercises such as relevés, échappés, bourrées, and slow rises to strengthen the feet, legs, and core. Dancers then progress to center work, which may include balances, turns, traveling steps, and short combinations.
Pointe class emphasizes correct technique, posture, turnout, and safe execution. Students learn to move gracefully and confidently while developing the strength and precision required for classical ballet repertoire.
Contemporary
A Contemporary class is an expressive dance class that combines elements of modern, ballet, jazz, and lyrical dance. Students explore movement quality, emotion, body awareness, and creativity while developing strength, flexibility, and control.
Class usually begins with a warm-up to prepare the body, followed by technique exercises such as floor work, balance, turns, extensions, and traveling movements. Dancers then learn choreography that focuses on musicality, expression, dynamics, and storytelling.
Contemporary dance encourages students to connect movement with emotion, use the full body freely, and develop their own personal style in a supportive and creative environment.
Babies and Me “Little Sunbeams”
Children participate at their own pace while developing confidence, motor skills, and early social skills in a warm and nurturing environment.
3/4 Year Old “Rainbow Movers”
The 3/4 year old preschool dance class “Rainbow Movers” is designed for young dancers who are ready to begin moving more independently. Students explore basic dance steps, rhythm, coordination, balance, and creative movement through the READY SET DANCE curriculum.
This class helps children develop listening skills, confidence, classroom routine, and social interaction while having fun with music, dance, and imaginative activities.
5 – 6 Year Old Classes “Shooting Stars”
The 5/6 year old class “Shooting Stars” builds on foundational preschool dance skills and helps prepare students for more structured dance training. Dancers continue to develop technique, rhythm, musicality, coordination, confidence, and performance skills through age-appropriate jazz, tap, hip hop, singing, and creative movement.
This class encourages independence, focus, teamwork, and self-expression while keeping the experience fun, energetic, and positive.
The program’s syllabus is built on imaginary play, repetition, and fun and games. Moving to music and following along in unison develops a child’s listening, coordination, and rhythm.
Classes can be chosen for the full-year program with or without year-end show or 10-12 week session.
Ball Class/Jumps & Turns

Ball Class and Jump & Turns classes provide foundational skills used in all dance programs. Students will work on flexibility and strength. Our conditioning ball class is based on the ‘Progressive Ballet Technique’ where students work on their body strength using exercise balls in relation to their basic ballet technique. Both of these classes are only open to students Grade 4 Levels through to senior.
Acro

An Acro class combines dance technique with acrobatic skills, focusing on strength, flexibility, balance, coordination, and control. Students learn how to safely perform skills such as rolls, cartwheels, handstands, bridges, walkovers, and other tumbling movements.
Class typically begins with a warm-up and stretching to prepare the body, followed by conditioning exercises to build core, upper-body, and leg strength. Students then practice acrobatic skills through progressions, drills, and spotting when needed.
Acro class emphasizes proper technique, safe execution, body awareness, and smooth transitions between dance and acrobatic movements. It helps dancers build confidence, flexibility, and strength while adding dynamic and exciting elements to their dance training.TPDS follows The ACROBATIC ARTS Syllabus and Teachings
Musical Theatre
The Musical Theatre program involves combining drama, dance, and lip-syncing & singing. The emphasis is on teaching the student how to use their facial expression to add to their dance repertoire, creating a more diverse and complete performer. Classes will be focusing on show tunes, character development, improvisation, mime, and song & dance.
